With: Tricia Taylor, author of Connect the Dots.
When: Friday 27th February
Tricia works internationally with schools and organisations to translate the science of learning into everyday practice. After 25 years as a teacher, school leader, and university lecturer in London and New York City, she founded TailoredPractice, which now helps leaders—especially those working with younger, fast-moving teams—thrive by understanding how learning works and putting it into action every day. A regular conference presenter, she’s the author of Connect the Dots: The Collective Power of Relationships, Memory and Mindset and is known for turning evidence into engaging, practical strategies that make learning stick.
Her favourite restaurant is the Palomar in London – the food is amazing and it’s fun to watch the cheffery.
Learning on the job is part of hospitality — but for young staff, the way we teach matters just as much as what we teach.
This session draws on cognitive science to help leaders understand how young staff — and all of us — learn best at work. You’ll explore how to reduce overload, make memory stick, support motivation and give feedback that builds confidence instead of anxiety — creating a culture where learning leads to loyalty. Whether you’re onboarding or upskilling, this is about making development a reason people stay, not leave.
