GOOD TO GREAT

FOR Experienced

How to develop your leadership skills as the manager of long-term team performance

Becoming a GM is a big step up. As a shift leader you lead by being there. As a GM you lead by building teams. Making this move involves a shift of mind. You can’t ‘make’ people be team players, but you can create conditions in which people want to be team players. Good to Great is built around the core idea of how to create a team climate in the fast paced world of bars and restaurants.

In London, Good to Great is a five-day programme run on the same day each week for five consecutive weeks.

In Manchester, Bristol and Glasgow, we offer this as a 5 day programme, or separate workshops.

The programme is designed for single site line managers including GM, Head Chef and anyone in hospitality who has responsibility for long term team performance.

Good to Great covers the four critical aspects of leadership in hospitality

Know yourself

  • Via psychometric data, you will gain a deep understanding of how your unique thinking style affects your communication, leadership and management approach

Lead yourself

  • You will develop strategies for reigniting thinking styles that are under-using

Know others

  • You will engage with the five core skills of taking a coaching approach to leadership:
    • building trust,
    • listening at three levels,
    • punctuating performance conversations through summaries and signposts,
    • asking powerful questions,
    • and setting goals,

Lead others

  • You will encounter and bring to life the five critical components of a powerful team climate
  • You will be introduced to at least 15 practical and authentic management tools to put to use in your business.

And you will consolidate your learning into a detailed action plan which you will present to your colleagues on the programme on day five.
