Shift Leaders
Managing Your Friends is a series consisting of three standalone workshops, ideally suited to waiters stepping up, and shift leaders.
Working alongside your mates today, then being the person in charge tomorrow is a tough transition for a lot of new managers. It’s a cocktail of imposter syndrome, anxiety, social complexity, excitement and opportunity.
You’re accountable for the team‘s performance now, not just your own, and you know you have to deliver as a manager straight away. But it can often feel like you have to “earn your stripes” (rightly or wrongly) first before you can really get into your stride.
This series was written to help new managers avoid some of the most prevalent pitfalls, and land some quick easy wins early on, to boost confidence and make that transition as smooth as possible.
The programme looks to offer participants skills in:
- Creating a climate on shift to get the behaviours you want.
- Leading a shift plan for the day with clarity & confidence
- Giving on the spot feedback to keep the shift moving and the standards high
- A psychometric framework to understand why the same thing will land with some people, and not others.
- A better understanding of their own thinking style and how it impacts the task, the team and the individual.
How to use it:
