New shift managers tend to spend the bit before service reacting: deliveries, emails, whoever grabs them first, which means by service, the day can be running them rather than the other way around. This session is all about being purposeful in your set-up by using prioritising techniques to decide what matters, and in what order, and ensuring your team have what they need from you to succeed.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On completion of the workshop:
The Morning Audit - where the time actually goes before service, and how little of it is spent on things that actually affect how the shift goes.
Priority Order: One, Two, Three. Everything feels urgent in the morning, so urgency isn't the test. Managers will rank their top three for the day. (A ranking only holds if you can say what it costs you)
Practiced using the Eisenhower Matrix for prioritising and delegating.
Briefing the team - from Danny Meyer's Setting the Table - What do your team need from you before service, so they don't need you during it.
"Finding your Voice was excellent today, thanks Phil and Stephen - really timely"
